Abstract
Semiconductors enable the critical infrastructure and defense capabilities upon which nations depend. The global supply chain for semiconductors is complex and vulnerable to a variety of disruptions including geopolitical shifts, trade regulations, workforce etc. Addressing these disruptions is important for managing the supply chain network. However, data for predictions are scarce. Given the recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) models, particularly the technology add-ins to large language models (LLMs), the generation of synthetic model inputs could bridge the gaps in data availability and provide modelers with test cases for the application of risk- and resilience based modeling methods. The information and approaches produced in this project will be useful for CHEST IAB members seeking to avoid surprise in operations, as well as to explore the roles of AI add-ins for supply chains.
